🔹 1. KITAS is not for work!
It’s also available for spouses, retirees, students, clergy, family reunification.
🔹 2. It stands for “Limited Stay Permit Card”
KITAS = Kartu Izin Tinggal Terbatas — it allows you to stay from 6 months up to 5 years depending on the type.
🔹 3. KITAS is for work
It’s also available for expert, worker, joint with offshore instalation.
🔹 4. You must report your KITAS to the local immigration
Once issued, it’s mandatory to register your address and complete the biometrics.
🔹 5. It can be upgraded to KITAP
After a few years, some KITAS holders become eligible for a KITAP (Permanent Residence Stay Permit).
